Jericho is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Nassau County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 13,045. There is one primary School district that serves this hamlet, and that is the Jericho Union Free School District. Part of Jericho is served by the Syosset Central School District.

Jericho is in the Town of Oyster Bay.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 13,045 people, 4,545 households, and 3,813 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,240.6/km (3,214.1/mi). There were 4,600 housing units at an average density of 437.5/km (1,133.4/mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 86.36% White, 1.42% African American, 0.03% Native American, 10.69% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.51% from other races, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.44% of the population.
